Extreme Figure Drawing with Dave Ross

Extreme Figure Drawing with Dave Ross: Starts July 28, 2008

This intensive overview of the human form is designed to give the art student a strong understanding of how the human body is built. The program will focus on a simplified, constructive method of drawing the human form, allowing the student to draw the male or female body at rest or in action from their imagination.

The Extreme Figure Drawing Course is designed to enable the student to render figures freehand from any point of view or perspective. To this end we use a simplified version of the human body initially but require the student to attempt the more complicated angles and posing with that “simplified model”. Once the student has become proficient in manipulating this “model” - we begin to add detail to the form.

Specific sessions detailing the drawing of hands and the head will be included. There will be a session on the “Skeleton” as well as one on “Musculature” to give you a complete understanding of the human form in “action”.

Since classes are limited to a maximum 15 - we will have the opportunity to work on a one-to-one basis depending on your needs.
