Visual Story Telling with Joan Steacy

Starts August 23, 2010

Everyone has a story to tell and Joan believes anyone who has the desire or wishes they could visualize and draw a storybook….can!

Joan has created a program that will help you through the process step by step. Once one is committed to the process of concept to sketch to final artwork, the idea can become a reality. The result is something very unique to the individual’s story about themselves or someone special to them. Many graphic novels and storybooks are biographical in content: this workshop will allow you to write and draw what you know best - your story! Your finished work can then be turned into a printed picture book for you to share with family and friends and beyond…

JOAN THORNBORROW STEACY graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 1979 and received a Humanities Diploma at the University of Victoria in 2001.  Much of her work is figurative in content.  Her commissioned works and her commercial work as a digital colourist for children’s books and comics have been published in the United States and Japan.
