TO APPLY FOR ENTRY INTO YEAR FOUR:
3D COMPUTER ANIMATION AND PRODUCTION (full time only)
Open to students who have completed our three-year
diploma program in Classical Animation Basics, and to
any student who has completed an equivalent course of
study elsewhere.
Please send us:
- Application Form
- A written character reference with contact
information.
- A short essay about yourself and why you believe
you should be accepted into this program.
- A demo reel of your best classical animation.
Some computer animation may be included.
- A portfolio including life drawing, animal
drawing, cartooning and character design, layout,
background painting and storyboards.
- Pages from your sketchbook.
- Your application fee: cheque or money order made
out to Max the Mutt Animation School. Do not send
cash.
FOR IN-PERSON PORTFOLIO REVIEWS, YOU MAY BRING ORIGINAL
ARTWORK. IF YOU ARE MAILING YOUR PORTFOLIO, YOU MUST
SEND COPIES. PORTFOLIOS WILL NOT BE RETURNED.
English Language Requirements
All of the courses at Max the Mutt Animation School are
taught in English. If English is not your first
language, you will be required to provide an English
language assessment score with your application. We
suggest that you check the Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL) web site at
www.toelf.com to see the actual requirements needed
to obtain proof of English proficiency.
If you live in the greater Toronto area we recommend
beginning your application process with a personal
interview with our Admissions Director and a tour, at no
cost. (Click on “Arrange a Tour” above.) Part two of
your application process will be a portfolio review and
an interview with the Directors. If you do not live in
the Toronto area you may fill out our on-line
application form and send it to us, along the
application fee, portfolio, etc. (See below.) Where
possible, we will arrange for a telephone interview.
Character References
U.S. and international applicants must include two
written character references with contact information.
Canadian applicants must include one written character
reference, preferably a former instructor or employer,
with contact information.
