Portfolio Review Requirements
1) YOUR COMPLETED APPLICATION FORM AND PORTFOLIO REVIEW

2) YOUR TRANSCRIPT
Provide transcripts from any secondary or post –
secondary institution attended in the last 5 years.
3) YOUR PORTFOLIO
Students are not expected to have fully developed
skills. However, we will need evidence of your efforts
in:
- Two(2) still life drawings of objects in an
environment. For example, an apple and a bottle on a
table, or a toy truck on a floor.
- A drawing of your own hand.
- A drawing of a room ( interior).
- A drawing of a neighborhood ( exterior).
- A drawing of any real world animal. Provide
copies of the initial sketch, in-progress and
finished work.
- A penciled page showing the following: A
character approaches a building. The character finds
an entrance to the building. The character enters
the building. Another character meets the first
character. They interact.
- Pages from your sketchbook.
- A 2-3 page essay about yourself and why you want
to attend this program. Your essay must include:
What graphic novels, comic books, or Illustration
artists have inspired you and why?
- What are your major interests and
influences?
- What are your favorite books?
- Have you had any “team or group
experiences”, such as working on a school or
community based project or event? Sports, theatre,
music, school publication, or academic club?
- Why do you want to attend this
program?
- A written character reference, from a current or
past instructor or employer, with contact
information. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED
TO SUBMIT TWO (2) REFERENCES.
IN PERSON PORTFOLIO REVIEWS ARE PREFERRED. BRING IN YOUR
ORIGINAL WORK. IF YOU ARE MAILING IN YOUR APPLICATION
PLEASE SEND 8 ½ BY 11 INCH COPIES.
E-MAIL APPLICATIONS ARE ALSO ACCEPTABLE.
